Botulinum toxin (Botox®) is a safe and effective wrinkle relaxation treatment.

Over the years, repeated facial muscle contractions combined with other environmental and lifestyle factors can cause permanent deep lines and wrinkles. When the muscles move in our face, our brain sends signals via the nerves, instructing them to contract. Botox® injectable are a natural protein that works by interrupting this process.

When injected into muscles underneath facial wrinkles, Botox ® works by temporarily reducing muscle activity and creating smoother, younger-looking skin.

ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS

Which areas do we treat?

  • Smooths horizontal lines and prevents new wrinkles from forming.

  • Reduces vertical lines between the eyebrows, often called "11" lines.

  • Softens the lines that form around the outer corners of the eyes.

  • Elevates the eyebrows for a more open and youthful eye area.

  • Diminishes the lines that appear on the nose when you scrunch it.

  • Reduces vertical lines above and around the lips.

  • Smooths the dimpled or "orange peel" appearance.

  • Softens the vertical neck bands for a smoother neck profile.

  • Slims the jawline and reduces teeth grinding or jaw clenching.

  • Treats excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

  • After your consultation, your practitioner will make some markings on the treatment area to ensure optimal results are achieved. Topical anaesthesia is not required for this treatment as we use extremely fine needles. Your practitioner will conduct a series of four injections to each side of the face.

  • There is no significant downtime for this treatment. Patients can go about their usual daily activities.

We advise you to refrain from any exercise for 24 hours following treatment.

  • Your treatment may take up to 14 days to become fully effective. You may wish to repeat treatment anytime after 6-9 months. Some patients have reported no symptoms of bruxism after a multiple courses of treatment.

HYPERHIDROSIS (EXCESSIVE SWEATING)

Hyperhidrosis means excessive sweating. It can be localised or affect the entire face and body. Sweating is controlled by the brain, which sends signals along nerves called “sympathetic nerves” to the small sweat glands in the skin. These nerves are part of the “autonomic nervous system”, which controls many unconscious body functions. Increased sweating is a normal response to a rise in body temperature; and emotions such as anxiety.

What is Botulinum Toxin for Hyperhydrosis:

Treatment with botulinum toxin (Botox, others) temporarily blocks the nerves that cause sweating. Your skin will be iced or anesthetized first. Each affected area of your body will need several injections. The effects last 6 to 12 months, and then the treatment needs to be repeated. This treatment can be painful, and some people experience temporary muscle weakness in the treated area

BRUXISM (TEETH GRINDING)/JAW SLIMMING

Bruxism is the medical term for teeth grinding, which typically accompanies jaw clenching. It is an oral condition that occurs amongst many people at some point in their lives. Although, it is not considered a health problem in most cases, it can negatively influence daily activities. Bruxism may occur during the day or at night. It is typically recognised as a sleep disorder due to the likelihood of it happening when one is asleep.

Bruxism symptoms can include; headache, earache, facial pain, gum pain, toothache, Masseter hypertrophy (enlarged Jaw muscle), grinding noises and problems eating.

Botulinum toxin is commonly used to successfully treat teeth grinding with minimal discomfort.
